The scares and awes of life

It is amazing the things life can throw at a person. Especially all at once!
My mother is having a lump taken from her breast today. I am the person who is the support for her. I'm perfectly ok being there for my mom. The thing is suddenly sue isn't JUST my mom, she is human. She isn't immortal. And suddenly I'm scared for her. Even getting the IV put in scares me. She is part of a group of women who I constantly refer to as the strongest women I know. I should put out there that I don't mean physically strong but emotionally and mentally strong. The women on my mother's side of the family - I think came from the Amazons! They are amazing women! But this year has been a reminder to me that they are amazing but alas they are also mortal. I'm scared. I worry that my son won't know the strength of these amazing women in our family. I worry that my siblings' children won't know the strength of our women. I don't think that I myself will be able to show them by myself..

And at the same time, some how I stand in awe of my husband. I have always been a very independent woman. I have always worked at LEAST one job. Suddenly with this pregnancy I have no job and am relying entirely. On my husband for everything. At times I feel bad like I have given him a huge burden of taking care of myself, our unborn child and our three fur kids. Then out of the blue my amazing husband says something like, I would rather you be home to raise our children then put them in daycare. And I am suddenly floored by his total conviction in my being home with our babies!

Life is so full of up's and down's that never seem to end..

The art of buying a house from a property virgin's point of view

So, my DH and I have always talked about houses and "some day" we will have a house.

Well today was a huge step for us - we put in our offer for our first house! We will hopefully find out on Tuesday that they accepted our first offer..

The house has a few updates that we have to do now and few that need done right away - we are hoping that the sellers will pay for the immeadiate update.

Here's to hoping!

Taking life one day at a time

Being pregnant has shown me that I need to take one day at a time. I tried taking them all at once and all that did was make me sick! So, with that said the new things I have taken on.

I have started a dog walking and pet sitting business. I am also taking a course on starting a pet care business (for free!).

I am reading more now. Magazines on vegetarianism, and yoga. Books on pregnancy and routines. The book on routines is amazing! It's about taking little steps and one day at a time. The main concern of the book is creating routines and keeping your living space livable but not perfect. The author focuses on NOT letting perfectionism take over your life. And making sure that what you do have in your home are things that BLESS your family. That's right I said BLESS! It doesn't matter if items around your home are useful only if they make your family happy and BLESS them!

We are coming up on d-day for the wedding as well! So we are trying to get all the last minute items in line. Still need to figure out who is making the cake and what my bouquet will look like. Oh and the final fitting for my dress - which after talking with my seamstress hasn't even been cut out!! LOL I am so, SOOO glad that I am not a worry wart!

So, anyways. I am focusing on one day at a time. I am going to be trying to incorporate more prenatal yoga and meditation.

Until next time,
Ally

Purpose

I am sure that you are all thinking that I have found my purpose due to the subject - however that isn't the case. I draw an Angel Card almost every day. And as you may now have guessed my card for today was purpose.

After speaking with a very wise woman this afternoon (and with a lot of fighting with myself) I am thinking about going back to my old job (as long as they will let me). My wise woman told me that I need to take care of my family. And even though I could take care of them here at home with amazing cooked meals, clean living environment and filling our home with love, I can also do that by making sure that we have a house over our heads, make sure we have food in our bellies and by making sure the bills are covered.

I going to keep my eyes open for another position available here in town, however with my town being so small and jobs being very limited, I don't see that happening...

But my focus now is purpose. I will live with purpose. Purpose is my fiancĂ©e and my unborn child. So the question is what am I willing to do to live the BEST life with them???

Coming back around

Took a little time off.. Time to come home.

Things I am learning currently are as follows:

  • What getting married means and what goes with it!
  • What being pregnant means and what your body does during it!
  • What I want to do with my life and how to come around to it!

So, obviously the first two - yeah it's been a roller coaster of a couple months! I am 10 weeks along and I have 10 weeks till our wedding! (*Eeek*)

But that last one is stumping me up a bit. I tried working with a great company. I was answering calls for them but the money just isn't coming in like I want it to (*and frankly, need it to!*). Also, I am just not feeling very inspired by my job. I want something that excites me and makes me get up in the morning and get moving. So, I am going to "pretend" that this blog is my job for the next week. I am going to make it my JOB to post daily and find something inspiring in my life everyday!

I am also giving myself this one week to figure out a job and money for my family or it's back to the "store" for me!

So there you have it. The following are true for the next week:

  1. I will "work" for my blog for the next week!
  2. I will find inspiration in something I do every day!
  3. I will find a job in ONE week!

And there you have it my dear friends!
Wish me luck!
Ally
